About Me

Dr James Pang is a Chatswood-based Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with 10+ years experience in the management and treatment of gastrointestinal and liver disorders.
Dr Pang graduated in medicine from the University of NSW in 2006 and completed his gastroenterology and hepatology training across Sydney. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2014 and then went on to complete a Masters in Medicine (Clinical Epidemiology) at the University of Sydney in 2016.
After completing his formal gastroenterology training in Sydney, Dr Pang spent 2-years working abroad in Hong Kong as a clinical research fellow, focusing on viral hepatitis (Hepatitis B and C) and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
Dr Pang is a Conjoint Committee accredited endoscopist (gastroscopy and colonoscopy) and a member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA). He is also a Conjoint Senior Lecturer at the University of Newcastle and is a supervisor of gastroenterology advanced trainees and medical students at Gosford Hospital. Dr Pang is actively involved in and is passionate about teaching future specialists, junior doctors and medical students.
Dr Pang is fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin.
